About the College
One of South Carolina’s largest colleges, Midlands Technical College, a comprehensive two-year institution, annually enrolls approximately 15,000 credit students seeking to develop career skills or transfer to a four-year college or university. The college’s Continuing Education Division provides training opportunities to more than 30,000 individuals each year, and is one of the largest providers of noncredit professional upgrade training of any two-year college in the state.
Preparing students from diverse backgrounds for the challenges of the future is the hallmark of Midlands Technical College. With the latest technology applications and a quality learning environment, the college makes higher education affordable, convenient and readily accessible. MTC offers more than 100 degree, diploma and certificate programs of study. An estimated 70 percent of the courses are in the Career Programs area. A strong college transfer program provides students the opportunity to take the first two years of a baccalaureate degree and transfer to one of the region’s four-year institutions. Midlands Technical College is currently the largest source of transfer students to the University of South Carolina.
MTC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
